Calculus, Probability and Statistics, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations.
Typical Problems I Help With
Many students do not need “more math lessons.” They need a clear diagnosis, a structured plan, and focused training that turns understanding into marks.
Understands the topic, but loses marks in exams
The student seems to understand lessons, but test results do not reflect their real ability.
Works hard, but has no clear strategy
The student spends time on math, but does not know which topics, skills or exam techniques matter most.
Struggles with exam-style questions
Standard exercises are manageable, but IB, A-Level, AP or admissions-style problems feel much harder.
Has gaps in key foundations
Algebra, functions, trigonometry, calculus, probability or notation gaps slow down progress.
Needs a higher predicted or final grade
The student needs stronger performance for university applications, mocks or final exams.
Feels anxious before tests
The student may know the material, but loses confidence, time and accuracy under exam pressure.
How We Start
Step;Result
Free diagnostic consultation: We discuss the student’s program, current grade, goals, timeline and main difficulties.;I understand the situation and suggest the best format.
First lesson: I check the student’s reasoning, gaps, speed, notation and exam technique.;We see what exactly blocks progress.
Personal study plan: I define key topics, homework rhythm, exam practice and priorities.;The student gets a clear direction.
Regular lessons: We combine explanation, guided problem-solving, homework and exam-style practice.;Understanding turns into performance.
Progress feedback: Parents receive honest updates when needed.;No surprises before mocks or final exams.
Two months before my IGCSE exams (Paper 1 and Paper 2), I was only getting a grade C at best. I was in a panic! I knew I could do better but had no idea how. I needed someone to explain the problems in a clear and simple way, not like at school. Thanks to Ilyas, I achieved an A in Mathematics and was so proud of myself! Thank you not only for my result, but also for the confidence I gained!

I studied with Ilyas for more than 2 years. My goal was to achieve strong grades in A-Level Further Maths and to get into a top UK university. In the end, I was admitted to Imperial College London to study engineering! Ilyas knows how to inspire, and the way he teaches mathematics makes you truly enjoy it - you want to solve more problems. I wish excellent results and confidence to everyone preparing for exams! With Ilyas, your journey will definitely become easier and more exciting.

I had always dreamed that my son would take part in math competitions and win prizes. My son, Aybar, often struggled a little, but I could see his potential. We studied with Dr. Ilyas for a long time, and in 2024 my son won a bronze medal in AMC-8. I was overjoyed! We still continue lessons with Ilyas, as studying at a prestigious math school requires strong support. I firmly believe that only education can open the way to a bright future, so we invest wholeheartedly — and Ilyas helps us tremendously.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. Ilyas for being my teacher throughout the two years of my IB HL program. Thanks to him, I was able to truly understand many difficult topics: combinatorics, complex numbers, integrals and many others. I achieved the highest grades in my IB program (7 out of 7), and before university I continued studying with Ilyas. As a result, when I arrived in the US for my studies, I immediately passed two university courses in Calculus and Multivariable Calculus, and they were credited to me! If you want to become a mathematician, you won’t find a better tutor!

Hi everyone! I’m very grateful to Ilyas for helping me with my IB program here in Switzerland. I was taking Math AI SL, and we studied together for almost a year, including preparation for my Internal Assessment. I scored 6 out of 7 in math — which is amazing! My TI calculator is now like a relic, even though I don’t use it anymore. 😄

I was never very strong in math, but I desperately needed decent grades in my final school years to be able to study medicine in the US. To be honest, I was not impressed with my school teacher. If it hadn’t been for Ilyas, I don’t know how I would have survived the last two years of school. Yes, I made many mistakes, but he patiently guided me through. Now I’m in Boston - I can’t say I fell in love with math, but I passed all the challenges with dignity. And what a challenge AP Calculus was! Best wishes to everyone!

With Ilyas’s great help, I am now studying engineering in Canada. Without our lessons, my dream of a career in the mining industry would have been shattered. I am amazed at how easily he explains Physics, Linear Algebra, and Calculus. Simply brilliant!

In grades 10 and 11, I was preparing for the Unified State Exam in Russia - it was all stress, fear, and pressure. I couldn’t understand my school teacher at all. But with Ilyas, everything became much clearer. I managed to handle the standard tasks well, and if I hadn’t made a couple of silly mistakes, I could have scored even higher. In the end, I got 68 points, which I consider a good result, and now I’m going to study at St. Petersburg State University. I’ll probably continue lessons there too - after all, math is everywhere.

My name is Aidar, and while I was in high school, I worked very intensively with Ilyas on AP Calculus BC because my school classes weren’t good enough for me. We had studied school math together before, but I especially want to highlight our Calculus BC lessons. It’s a tough program, yet I managed to earn an excellent score and that’s largely thanks to Ilyas. The practice problems he gave me were especially valuable; they helped a lot, as very similar questions appeared on the exam. Thank you so much!

My studies in the Netherlands, majoring in Business Analytics, turned out to be full of calculus, statistics, and probability theory. I didn’t expect the tasks to be so hard. I had known about Ilyas for a long time from my classmates, so I decided to reach out for help and I’m so glad I did! For three semesters he patiently explained every concept in detail, things I would never have understood on my own. After the exams, I was happy to know I could keep moving toward my dream!

My name is Denis, and we live in Germany. I started studying at university here, and it was quite difficult. It was especially hard when the professor didn’t really try to explain things. I was also still getting used to the German language, so it was twice as hard. With Ilyas, we worked through Calculus 2 and Calculus 3, and it was incredibly productive and helpful. I passed my exams and now continue studying to become a programmer. Wishing everyone good luck, keep moving forward!

I’m from Almaty and studied in the A-level program. I wanted to achieve high grades and get into a top university in the UK. With Ilyas, studying wasn’t just easier. It was enjoyable. The lessons flew by quickly and were always fun. I have only warm memories! Since both my brother and sister also studied with him, I can say he was our family tutor. Wishing him all the best and many brilliant students in the future!

Guys, it was awesome! We found Ilyas through friends and studied together for the entire two years of my A-Level program. It was such an interesting experience learning from someone from another part of the world. I want to highlight his professionalism in everything - especially in mathematics, punctuality, and politeness. Highly recommended!

I study abroad in Italy and applied to university here with Ilyas’s support. Later, when I was already a university student in Rome and higher mathematics began, I naturally turned to Ilyas again. The program was so fast-paced that I couldn’t keep up on my own. Our professor wasn’t particularly keen on answering questions, so Ilyas’s help was invaluable. I scored 70%, which was a very strong result compared to the other students, so I was extremely happy with it. Wish all the best and Thank you so much!

Throughout both years of the IB program, Ilyas supported me, and I’m very grateful to him for that. I’m not very strong in math, but scoring 6 out of 7 in SL Math made me believe in myself — and that’s what I truly appreciate.

I really needed A* grades in A-Level Further Mathematics, so I was looking for a teacher who could solve problems quickly and explain things clearly and concisely. I found exactly that in Ilyas. We studied together for about three months, but it was extremely productive and very professional on his part. Thank you!

I study in Saint Petersburg, and our professor of Mathematical Analysis and Complex Function Theory was absolutely relentless. I had no idea how it was even possible to prepare for his exams! Luckily, friends from school recommended Ilyas Shakenov to me. Somehow, he managed to explain those three-page-long problems in a way I could understand — and I passed the exams successfully!

I’m preparing for the TMUA exam, and it’s incredibly challenging — you need to know so much beyond the standard syllabus! Mr. Ilyas seems to know everything, and I was honestly amazed by how much more there is to learn in mathematics. Now I’m hoping for a strong result. The exam is in just a few weeks, and I’m very nervous!

I’m a 15-year-old high school student in the U.S., and I’ve been studying with Ilyas for about 2.5 years. Math has always been difficult for me at school, so these extra lessons really help. He explains things clearly and takes time to make sure I understand. I feel much more confident in math now than I did before. Overall, studying with him has been very helpful and supportive.

We’ve been studying with Ilyas for four years, since I first started having difficulties with physics and math at a specialized school where teachers expected us to learn everything very quickly. With his help, I successfully passed my school exams and was accepted into an IB program in the UK. And of course, I couldn’t have done it without our lessons. Ilyas is always available, never criticizes, and only supports me. I constantly feel his support, and that gives me confidence and peace of mind.
